Beaches

Golden Beach is the longest beach on the island. This beach is 12 km away from Thassos town and 4 km from village Panagia and it is located on the eastern side of the island. Golden beach is long 3 km and has two villages at each side of the beach. Village on right side of the beach is Skala Potamia and village on the left is Skala Panagia. This beach is organized and very popular with the shallow crystal clear water and is the proud holder of the Blue Flag for cleanliness of water and sand. The beach is named Golden beach because of the gold sand that glistens in the sun. It is very easy to come to the Golden beach, around beach there is parking and also there are passes on the beach for people with disabilities. This beach with its surrounding is very nice for walks especially in colorful village of Skala Potamia.
